Alan Tompkins

Alan Tompkins was born in Kentucky but has been a Texan since 1983.  Even though he was transplanted at an early age, his bluegrass musical roots have remained strong.  He spends his time playing banjo, upright bass, and electric bass (including with his buddies, The Hammerknockers).  He also created the Bluegrass Heritage Foundation to help promote live bluegrass music in North Texas.  He spends his days as legal counsel to the family of the late Lamar Hunt, founder of the American Football League and the Dallas Texans (now known as the Kansas City Chiefs).
