Big Gus devotes his time to family, work, and his ever-present passion for music with his band Big Gus and Swampadelic (his daughter files them under the genre “Swampy-Tonk).  He has the tendency to play lead guitar for many of his good friends, lending his talents to such names as Hayes Carll, Gary P. Nunn, Deryl Dodd, Two Tons Of Steel, 1100 Springs, Billy Joe Shaver, Chris Knight, Jason Boland & The Stragglers, Dave Mason, Robert Earl Keen, and many more.  Big Gus was named Dallas’ “Best Radio DJ” in 2011 by the Dallas Observer.
